Your Practical driving test is just that, a test of your practical skills to drive a car in various road conditions and road scenarios. This is what you have been working towards in your driving lessons, its an important day, its a day that when you pass your test things will change for the better, more freedom, better job prospects, the convenience of been able to go where you want, when you want. so its important to be prepared. I ensure each and every candidate is ready and confident. As a Driving Instructor driver safety is paramount and see driving as a skill for life.
What to expect on the day
On the big day i will usually pick you up around one hour before the test. This will give you a little time to warm up and get your driving skills up to scratch. we take a drive around the test roads for 30 to 40 minutes to get your self accustomed to the conditions.
Ensure you take with you your provisional driving licence photocard. Without this, the examiner will terminate the driving test.
The driving test will last around 40 mins, it starts in the test centre waiting room where you will be introduced to your examiner, they will ask you sign a declaration that your car is insured and suitable for test…( It is).
The examiner will ask if you wish your instructor to accompany you on the test. It’s entirely up to you.
