About.

Hi, my name is Paddy Pollard and I own and run Ipass Aberdeen Driver Training. IPass Aberdeen Driver Training is an independent driving School in Aberdeen City.

I founded IPass Aberdeen Driver Training in 2013. Since then IPass Aberdeen has become an established and well regarded Aberdeen driving school offering driving lessons on the South side of Aberdeen and surrounding areas including, Cove, Portlethen, Kincorth, Torry and Garthdee,

During my driving lessons I use modern teaching methods. This means putting the pupil in control of their learning and progress. The first step is to identify how you learn as an individual, then I tailor the driving lessons to suit you. This ensures the learning process is effective, client focussed and enjoyable.

I believe that when learning to drive, the person who is learning should be involved in the plan, so I will record your progress, share this with you and we will decide together what we do on each driving lesson.

I am a very patient, approachable and friendly person. I believe that driving lessons should be a pleasant and enjoyable experience. When these conditions exist, the result is a competent, happy, confident driver.

Learning to drive is a Skill For Life, so during your driving lessons I will teach skills and include advice so that you can continue to improve your driving even after your test.

Learning to drive can make a big difference to your life; giving you a newfound freedom, independence, confidence and a new and important skill set. Passing your test is a great day and an amazing accomplishment and I really enjoy being instrumental in helping this happen.

About Paddy

Hi, my name Paddy Pollard. I own and run IPass Driver Training. I did not set out to become a Driving Instructor but since beginning my career in driver training I have not looked back. I began working in the building trade and then in Social Care where I discovered my love for training others. I have now combined my love of driving, 1-1 training and meeting people to become an Approved Driving Instructor.

I began my training in 2009 with Roadwise Driver Training and became an Approved Driving Instructor in 2010. I undertake continued professional development to make sure I am up-to-date with current teaching methods, road safety and testing standards.

I am a member of the ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) and the local Driving Instructors Association.

Mini Cooper

The Mini Cooper is one of the most revered nameplates in the automotive world. It was made famous with the original 1960s Mini, penned by Alec Issigonis, and revived in 2002 by BMW. Since then it has gone from strength to strength proving itself as a front runner in small car safety and performance.

I have chosen the Mini Cooper as my driving school car as I feel it has best all around vision for a small hatchback car and more importantly is the safest of all modern hatchbacks.. Its a great car, small yet spacious. It is somewhat bigger than the 60s classic but that’s not a bad thing. There is a clear digital speedometer, air conditioning and a flexible range of driving position adjustments, as both the seat and steering wheel are adjustable.

Lessons.

Driving lesson duration is mostly 1.5hr or 1hr. Learning to drive can be challenging. For someone to get the most from their lesson they should feel alert, focused and engaged as this is when they generally absorb more information. I have found that longer lesson times of 2hrs or more can often be too long for the pupil and the learning becomes limited especially towards the end.

During my driving lessons I use modern teaching methods, which put the pupil in control of their learning and progress. The first step is to identify how you learn as an individual, then I tailor the driving lessons to suit you. This ensures the learning process is effective, client focused and enjoyable.

I believe that when learning to drive, the person who is learning should be involved in the plan, so I will record your progress, share this with you and we will decide together the content of each lesson.

I am a very patient, approachable and friendly person. I believe that driving lessons should be a pleasant and enjoyable experience. When these conditions exist, the result is a competent, happy, confident driver.
